BEHOLD THE MAN — MANHOOD’S COVENANT: THE GROUNDWORK BEFORE YOU OWN IT
Before We Go Further
Manhood’s Covenant is rooted in the New Birth and in discipleship beneath the lordship of Jesus Christ.
Peter declared:
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
— Acts 2:38, KJV
This is the foundation assumed throughout these pages: repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Alignment here is not self-definition.
In the formation language of this book, alignment describes bringing our lives, strength, and responsibilities beneath the lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of His Word.
The covenant language used throughout these pages must also remain clear.
Not every responsibility a man carries constitutes a formal biblical covenant. Some responsibilities belong to commitments made before God. Others arise through faithful stewardship of people, relationships, duties, and work genuinely entrusted to him.
In either case, responsibility is not governed merely by emotion, public approval, personal ambition, or changing circumstances.
It remains stewardship before God.
The clarity addressed in this book flows from Scripture and remains beneath the lordship of Jesus Christ.
The authority belongs to Him.
What follows is written for men who have obeyed the Gospel and now desire to live faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ—bringing what has been entrusted to them beneath His lordship.
